DIGITAL AND LASER DENTISTRY

A missing tooth can lead to bone loss and tooth deformity. Dental implantation is an effective and wise investment in your health.

Dental implantation in Kiev is a procedure of implanting an artificial titanium root into the bone in place of the lost tooth.

How does dental implantation work at Mary Care Dental Clinic in Pechersk?

In order to install a dental implant, it is imperative that a qualitative diagnosis is made. The patient must have a computer tomography of the teeth, and only after that the doctor is able to correctly plan the future operation. One of the main purposes of this study is so that the doctor can assess the sufficiency of bone volume to be sure that there is a solid foundation for the future implant. If the doctor finds insufficient bone volume, then bone grafting must be performed.

Prior to the implantation, it is necessary to perform an oral cavity sonication (remove dental plaque and decay).

Also, the day before surgery, it is necessary to start a course of antibiotic therapy, so that the body is ready to withstand possible infection.

When all of the above is done, there is a good chance that the upcoming surgery will produce a guaranteed result.

Dental implant surgery is divided into three stages:

STEP 1:

Consultation. Drawing up a treatment plan. Fabrication of a navigation template. Dental implant placement.

STEP 2:

Gum formation. Happens on the day of implantation or 3-6 months later. Mary Care Dental Clinic performs this procedure without any incisions or stitches. Biolase is state-of-the-art laser equipment that makes gum formation as painless and comfortable as possible.

STEP 3:

The orthopedic structure on dental implants is custom-tailored. It is possible to make a zirconia crown or E-Max pressed ceramic.

What to know and do after the surgery

Pain: After the surgery, you should always take antibiotics and pain medication. If you are not bothered by pain, you should still take painkillers, as they have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Swelling: After surgery, it is recommended to put a cool compress on the side where the surgery was done, in order to avoid bruising and swelling.

Rinsing: The first day after surgery you should not rinse your mouth because this can cause bleeding.

Recommendations after dental implant surgery:

  • Driving is not recommended for several hours after surgery.
  • For a few days after surgery, do not drink alcohol, salty or spicy food, coffee, black tea or smoke.
  • do not sleep on the side where the surgery was performed.
  • try to keep your head above chest height during the day and at night.
  • Dental implants will last as long as you practice good oral hygiene (use irrigators, brushes, change your toothbrush every two to three months) and come in for checkups every six months.

More information will be given in printed form after the surgery.
