What should be the correct bite?

404

A bite is considered correct if the following factors match:

  • There are no gaps between the teeth
  • The center of the lower dentition coincides with the upper dentition
  • The axis of symmetry of the face passes between the central line of the incisors
  • The chewing teeth are in close contact.

Types of malocclusion

According to statistics, most people have a malocclusion. Basically, most people do not know that they have an overbite problem, they go to the dentist when they have problems with crooked teeth. If you do not have problems with the aesthetics of your teeth, this does not mean that you do not have problems with your bite. Bite is the position of the teeth when the jaw is closed. Normal bite – this is when the dentition has tight contact, the chewing teeth evenly close with each other, the upper incisors overlap the lower ones.

Incorrect bite can be different

Mistake

Deep bite. The teeth of the upper jaw cover the teeth of the lower jaw for one second of the jaw.

Distal bite. This is when the lower jaw is displaced in relation to the upper jaw in the rear direction.

Deep overbite. Combined version, in which the lower jaw is mixed back, and also overlapped by the upper front teeth by more than one second jaw.

Mesial bite. The displacement of the lower jaw in relation to the upper forward.

Crossbite. Pathology of the bite, in which the overlap between the upper and lower teeth is broken so that in some sections or single teeth of the lower jaw they cover the corresponding upper ones.

Open bite. Pathology of closing teeth vertically.

How to avoid malocclusion

Avoid bite pathology

A bite is formed when the body is still developing. Basically, the child's bad habits form the development of various bite pathologies. For example, when a child deliberately changes the position of the jaw, due to which the jaw may become incorrect for a long time, propping up the jaw with his hand or licking his erupted teeth with his tongue, all this can provoke malocclusion. As well as the incorrect position of the pillow, affects the curvature of the spine and jaw displacement.

You can notice a change in the jaw system in a child with the naked eye and without special education.  In this case, an examination by an orthodontist is required to identify pathology. A doctor in digital dentistry Meriker in Kyiv will carefully examine the child, study the pathology, determine the cause of the violation and give a number of recommendations – elimination of habits and various exercises to eliminate the anomaly. At a young age, the problem can be corrected quickly if the child, under the supervision of the parents, follows the recommendations of the orthodontist, for adults, bite correction is more difficult.
